If At First You Don’t Succeed…
I made a necklace with a gorgeous ceramic clay pendant from Shaterra Clay Studio and I was so pleased with how it turned out. I was holding it up to admire it last night when…awk…I found a mistake! See, look, I messed up the pattern of the little tan jasper beads! So now this necklace is back on my bead table, to be re-strung. I hate re-stringing!!! By the time this blog is published though, I’ll have it fixed and listed in my ArtFire studio.
I named this necklace Meadow. Don’t you just love this pendant? It was the inspiration for the color scheme for the rest of the necklace.
Going with the flower theme, I finished the necklace with this great brass filigree leaf clasp from Israel.
Meadow is now available (without bead-pattern errors!) in my ArtFire Studio.
I encourage you to hop over to the BTW Flickr group and see what is happening on other bead tables.
So pretty Linda – I feel your pain – I was trying to make wire wrapped loops last night and kept forgetting to attach it to the chain : ( I’d finish each one …be all pleased…then realize it wasn’t attached to anything! : ( ).
Lovely necklace!
omg, I’ve done that too. So maddening!
I love the design Linda, those colors have always been favorites. Sharleen’s work is always amazing and unique. I bet if you hadn’t say anything about the mistake most likely nobody would ahve noticed. But you’re too honest to let it go like that.
Oopsy! I think it would still be a beautiful necklace, even without the bead 🙂
Love the necklace Linda. I once read somewhere that native Americans would deliberately leave an error in their work, to show that they are human and humble. Usually I just make errors naturally without even trying!
Thanks for sending me the link to your work.
Yes, I know this to be true. I once taught at a Wa-He-Lute Indian School and then later I taught, for 25 years, on the Yakima Indian reservation in WA. And yes, I often get humbled by my naturally occurring errors!
That’s happened to me many times. Arggh!
Lovely necklace, really nice colors.
New to your blog, just stopping by to say hello!!
