Beach Log with Lichen
Its time for another ♥ I Heart Macro Sunday! ♥
My husband and I visited the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge this week. My Monday Meanderings post will be about our trip. But for today, I wanted to share a close up photo I took of a log on the beach there. It was covered with bright yellow lichen and had a great crusty texture that was fun to photograph, (the texture is even more visible if you click on the picture to enlarge it).

That is beautiful, such gorgeous color and texture. I used to have an Aunt who dyed hand-spun wool with lichen and moss; she always created such amazing colors from the natural additions.

How fascinating to find out that lichen and moss could be used as a natural dye. I love learning things like that! Thanks for sharing!

Awesome photo! I would never have thought that was a log, I was thinking it was a rock with lichen on it. Love all the textures and colors!
I Love this!! It puts me in mind of a rock with lots of moss I have in the yard, I think I’ll have to go see what I can do with it! Great Shot Linda!
