My earrings were inspired by the flowers on the quilt and in the tapestry.  The earrings aren’t the same colors as in the picture, but I had the orange lampwork flowers on hand and I had fun layering the flowers.

Daffodil Earrings

The cream colored centers remind me of the trumpet centers of daffodils.  Our previous house had a big field in the back, where over the years, my husband planted over one thousand daffodils for me.  At this time of year we had bouquets of daffodils in nearly every room and a big bouquet at work, too.  Every spring I think of our field of daffodils and how that was one way in which my husband said “I love you.” to me.

I Heart Macro – Pussy Willows

Its time for another ♥ I Heart Macro Sunday! ♥

 

We had a huge storm here about a month ago.  Branches and trees blew down all over the city.  We live near a wetland area, where pussy willows grow large; happy to have their feet wet all the time.  Pussy willow branches broke off in the storm and littered the sides of our little country road.

I discovered that even when pussy willows have been snapped off from the tree and even when they’ve laid on the ground for 2 or 3 weeks, the downed branches still have enough  life in them to put forth pussy willows and continue  the cycle of life.

There is a lesson here for me.  Although at times I may feel broken by life’s storms; although I feel that pieces of me lay scattered on the ground; there is still life within me. I can summon that life to grow anew.  I can go on.

My husband gave me a basket of primroses for Valentines Day.  He knows how much I love them.  They always give me hope that spring is around the corner and they help me get through the long, gray days of February.

Macro Monday: In The Garden

Macro Monday Meanderings

Lori of Studio Waterstone is hosting a blog hop for photo buffs who love to take close-up photos.  I posted a close-up of a dragonfly on my Facebook Page this morning.  The photo is about half a year old, and had been published in my blog sometime ago, but it generated all kinds of interest.   So-o-o-o I decided I would participate in Lori’s macro-photo blog hop.

The sun was out and I happily tramped through the garden capturing bits of spring.  But can I decide on just one photo to publish?  No, of course not!  So take a peek at  all three photos and let me know which one you like best.

Bird Banner

Today’s sunny weather inspired me to create a Springtime banner for my blog.  It’s a slice from this picture, featuring my Pink Bird Necklace.  What do you think of the banner?  Is it too busy, or not?

Bead Table Wednesday – Spring Fever!

Spring has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest and since I love flowers almost as much as I love beads, I’m one happy person!  Spring fever spilled over into my jewelry design this week too, so  I decided to name this bracelet Spring Fever.

 

Spring Fever includes glass, wood and ceramic beads.  The double strand of copper chain finishes with a flirty, little flower dangle.

I want to thank everyone who posted words of comfort and empathy on my blog and Facebook page after a dog ran out in front of my car and was killed on Sunday.  I felt the hugs and care that everyone sent my way.  Thank you for being so wonderful and for lifting me up. ♥✿♥✿♥
